Eumundi Conservation Area
Set just outside of Eumundi township at the end of Verrierdale Forest rd. There are four trails to explore in the par with lengths varying from 3.6km return to 10.1km return so covers most fitness levels. Here’s a run through based on Seib Rd Entrance: 1. Blackbutt Trail – relatively easy walk with some small hills that runs out to Eumundi-Noosa road return with loop that’s travels past the cattle yards and a lovely dam. This is a picturesque walk and great for kids as they love the cattle yards!! Distance is about 4.6km return. If you would
like a shorter trip to the cattle yards enter via the Eumundi-Noosa rd entrance. 2. Geebung Circuit – the shortest of the walks, a lovely one through the bush on a fairly wide trail. Distance is about 3.6km return. 3. Figbird trail – probably the easiest of the walks based on terrain, there is a creek crossing which can get tricky after rain so be forewarned. Distance is about 4km return. 4. Ironbark trail – easy in terms of terrain but the longest of the walks with one section running through swamp which can get boggy so best avoided after rain. Distance is about 10.2km return. All in all a lovely area to explore and then head into Eumundi for a bite to eat at one of the local cafés, there’s a few to choose from. Remember the repellent and have fun exploring! To find this hidden treasure take the Seib Rd exit off Eumundi-Noosa Rd then left down Verrierdale Forest Rd (dirt). Alternatively you can access the trails from other gates, check out the NPSR site for further location information: https://www.npsr.qld.gov.au/parks/eumundi-conservation-park/.
